2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Chief Car 4 and Deputy Chief Car 4 are our primary mobile Incident Command Posts. These vehicles give our Chief and Deputy Chief ability to reach the incident before any other apparatus. Which provides a strategic advantage as they perform initial size ups and begin giving orders before the arrival of following units. Thus LHFD Firefighters will know key pieces of information (hydrant locations, hazards, seat of the fire, etc) before they even arrive at an incident.

These mobile command posts also contain redundant hand tools, communications, and basic life survival equipment. This means that incidents begin being worked the moment the Chief or Deputy Chief arrive on scene. As well as creating a visual marker for responding Police, Fire, and EMS units of where the Incident Command Post has been established.
